Louis Faurer Exhibition.
A stunning collection of American photographer, Louis Faurer’s candid photography is being displayed at the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson.
On the streets of Philadelphia and New York in the 1940’s, 50’s and 60’s he captures the raw emotions of the human face amidst the chaotic urban day-to-day life. Often seeking to recognise himself in his subjects, he would sometimes encounter his double and other times his reflection would appear in the shot.
Faurer was as passionate about his craft behind the camera as he was in the dark room, experimenting with blur, double exposures, reflections and grain, highlighting his fondness of nocturnal life. His images are profoundly honest and a style ahead of its time.
Louis Faurer runs from September 9, 2016 until December 18, 2016 at the Foundation Henri Cartier-Bresson in Paris, France.
