Throughout the 1960’s and 70’s, emerging photographer Alec Byrne was delving into the exploding rock and roll scene in London. Legendary British artists—such as the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, the Who, and David Bowie—shook the music scene along with groundbreaking American musicians such as Chuck Berry, Jimi Hendrix, and the Doors. London was the perfect canvas for Byrne to capture the cultural and music revolution.
In December 2017 Alec Byrne and Simon & Shuster publishing put together London Rock: The Unseen Archive. The photo book is filled with never been seen before intimate portraits, candids, and rare live performances of musical influencers of the rock era. London Rock: The Unseen Archive shines a light on the undocumented part of London's musical history and paints a picture of a unforgettable time and place.
