“Homes” An Invitation to Calais’ Refugee Camps.
Photographer Harley Weir and Publisher Loose Joints have released called “Homes”, shedding light on the Calais’ migrant camps. The shooting was spread over a 10 day period between October 17th to 28th in Calais’ refugee camps. the photographs focus on before, when the temporary settlements were created, while they were inhabited, and after when they were empty and destroyed. “Homes” welcomes viewers into Calais’s refugees intimate spaces to visually explain their living conditions.
“Homes” is made up of 39 colour plates and 60 pages, sealed in a silkscreened and foiled cover. The book is sold exclusively through Loose Joints website, and all the proceeds are donated to the French charity La Cimade. This charity defends refugees and their rights.
