An Unfolding Portrait.
The MoMA will be holding an exhibition showcasing the creative process behind the famous sculptor Louise Bourgeois. The exhibition has been organized to show case Bourgeois’s creative process. She was known to revisit themes throughout her career and it is shown through layout at the MoMA in the museums Marron Atrium. The exhibition will mainly focus on her printed collections, which are lesser known to her sculptures. In the last two decades of her life, Bourgeois had created around 1,200 printed compositions. The Museum of Modern Art has a personal archive that they will be viewing along with rarely seen loans. In total the exhibition will show around 300 works, as well as the catalogue raisonné, Louise Bourgeois: The Complete Prints & Books, and ultimately documenting over 4,600 printed sheets in all.
