Like many designers before him, Victor Barragán has been inspired by his heritage and is using his home country of Mexico as the back drop to his Spring/Summer 18 collection. He currently lives and works with his label, Barragán, in New York but has made the trip to his mothers hometown of Xochimilco – located in the south of Mexico with his SS18 collection and a group of models to shoot the campaign.

He worked closely with his friend, Maria Osado and models form her independent agency Gürerxs, and with photographer June Canedo, who is a long time collaborator with the label.
To Candeo, it was important to shoot in Mexico. “America has been changing for a long time and industries like fashion should reflect that change, we need more Central and South American voices!”
