Jean-Michel Basquiat has become arguably one of the most widely celebrated artists of the second half of 20th century and rightly so. His blend of abstraction, figuration with socio-cultural critiques on racist structures in the United States gave his work a critical edge, both aesthetically and politically. The Foundation Louis Vuitton in Paris, is hosting a display of 100 pieces by Basquiat. To celebrate this grand scale exhibition, Taschen publishers are releasing an insightful monograph on the street art of Basquiat, providing a unique insight into his artistic style and subject matter. The monograph will be available October 2018 for 150 euros.
