FEATURING
Rain & Tears
Blown away by the amount of creativity in Thailand, from designers and photographers to musicians and artists, Helena Lu has called Bangkok home for last three years. Originally from Minsk, Belarus, as soon as she touched down in the City of Angels, she immediately connected with the city’s deep soul and decided very quickly to call the bustling metropolis home.
With shoots for Vogue, L’Officiel, Marie Claire and a variety of online publications, Helena has a busy Bangkok life. When she’s not at work, Helena makes the most of Bangkok’s vibrant nightlife, often heading to dinner at W District before hitting the dance floor at Glow or Mustache. On her days off she loves exploring the secondhand markets of the city, hunting for unique pieces and undiscovered vintage gems.
Aserica recently caught up with Helena and found out a few fun facts about the model:
Aserica: What’s your best memory to date?
Helena: I’ve told this one to everyone I know! It was when I had just returned to Thailand and messaged my favourite photographer to wish him a happy birthday, he called within a few minutes and asked if I wanted to do a shoot for Vogue! That was definitely one of the happiest moments in my life so far.
Aserica: Do you have a favourite picture of yourself from a shoot?
Helena: My favourite picture of myself is really any one where I’m smiling! I don’t usually smile in pictures so when I am it means that smile is genuine and came from my heart.
Aserica: Apart from Thailand, is there a place you’ve always wanted to visit?
Helena: I’ve always wanted to go to India. Ever since I read the book “Shantaram” it has been a dream destination for me.
