Tokyo Fashion Week S/S 2015: ATSUSHI NAKASHIMA by Jus Vun.
Inspired by “broken diamonds,” the latest collection from Atsushi Nakashima shines with kaleidoscopic patterns, cascading dresses, layered unisex looks and bold basics for both sexes. On one end of the spectrum there were the gowns – transparent, jewel-coloured frocks paired with trainers. On the other end, grey sweaters and muted block-colour trousers. In the middle somewhere, streetwear with an athletic edge, kept vibrant with gorgeous futuristic graphics. Throughout the collection, Nakashima embellished models with hyper-modern “fragmented diamond” bracelets and neckpieces. Nakashima has won several awards and was scouted by Jean-Paul Gaultier to be his assistant before returning to Japan in 2011.
