    EXCLUSIVE

    DJ Cleo Likes It Loud.

The inimitable DJ/model/presenter Cleo P shares her insights about life, music and beauty.

This Bangkok-based DJ started out as a singer, rapper and dancer before taking to the turntables. Spinning with Thai hip-hop crew Thaitaniuim and headlining various parties and events around the city, DJ Cleo P has emerged as one of the region's most exciting new offerings, bolstered by her recent collaboration with US electronic duo Designer Drugs. Her provocative style and edgy fashion sense contribute to her image as one of Thailand's strongest female talents.

    Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Bangkok , Thailand.

Where do you live now? - Is that a free choice?
Still in Bangkok , and yes it is my choice.

By the way, do you believe in free choice?
Yes , I very much do so.

How much have you changed, you think?
I don't think I have changed at all . I never forget where I'm from.

    What city/place inspires you most?
Places do not really inspire me, but people do. It's the people that make a a place special. I have been fortunate enough to know many amazing people all over the world.

Would you classify yourself as a DJ? Is that a word you would use?
    Yes , I'm a Dj and entertainer.

And how did you become a DJ?
I became a Dj because I am passionate about music and I wanted to do something new and fun. Music has always played a major role in my life. My career began as a stylist in the music industry before becoming a dancer and a rapper. I have always know how to feel out and rally a crowd, so djing came naturally. I get excited promoting underground music from all around the world in cities in Asia that haven't been exposed to it yet.

    What person inspires you most?
    My dad.

Do you feel you are part of a community or do you walk/work alone?
I mix music alone, but I am always surrounded by my crew who are all involved with their own interesting projects. We love to collaborate and organize parties together because we all bring something fresh and different to the table.

Do you create controversy in what you do, and do you really care?
I don't care about what people think about me. I just happy the way I am, which is all that matters.

Where’s the most beautiful place you’ve ever been?
    Koh Lipe in Thailand !!

What's the most beautiful thing someone ever told you?
    "I'm with you!"

Do you believe in beauty? How important is it for you?
I think all the girls just want to look pretty but end of the day it's who you are that really matters.

We often sacrifice a lot for someone/something beautiful - would you/ did you ever?
I am willing to make sacrifices for the people that I love. However, in my life I haven't had to make many major sacrifices. I consider myself to have a strong character and I pretty much do what I want. In many (not all) situations people are selling themselves short and calling it a sacrifice.

Do you think we all care/talk too much about beauty?
Life is beautiful. I don't think it's talked about enough.

What's the most beautiful thing you've ever seen?
The most beautiful thing to me is when I see large groups of people acting in unity and sharing a common love or purpose. This is the reason I do what I do. Whether it's to fight a revolution or to let go on a Friday night, the unification of people is amazing and powerful.

What is the most important thing for you now?
Right now the most important thing to me is simply to live life to the fullest and maximize any opportunities that come my way.

How much of a good thing is too much of a good thing?
I don't believe you can have to much of a good thing! :)

What would be a perfect day, from morning to night? Could you describe/imagine it?
Beach, Sunbathing, Good music + friends with a mojito in my hand.

What could be the best thing happening to you right now?
Right now I am collaborating with a upcoming jewelry brand on a music inspired jewelry collection. I am excited to express myself through a new medium.

    What would be the worst?
The worst thing right now is the political issues happening in my country.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Someone’s aunt with a lot of tattoos and still doing music.

Is there a compliment that annoys you?
Like most girls I know when people tell me a bullshit compliment.

Is there a quality you wished you didn't have?
My love for shoes can be a bit of a problem sometimes.

Is there a flaw you wished you had?
    A flaw I wish I had? I wish I liked pitbull.

Is there a question you don't want me to ask?
Ask me anything. I don't mind.
