DAYS & PLACES
Shanghai art deco aviation association.
Neo-Chinese and “Art moderne” architecture combined in the shape of a plane, welcome to Shanghai Aviation Association. A 1935 structure now reconverted as part of a hospital in the centre of the megalopolis. Built at a time when wealthy westerners from England, America and France had made the city conform to their ideal. A time when the horse race track, the Canidrome (greyhound dogs indoors racing track) or the French Club were the centre of their exclusive social life.
