Carlo Mollino Heaven’s Gate.
Beasts, busts and beauties – the restored villa of Carlo Mollino is captivating as it is esoteric. Recreated from an inventory made upon his death, it’s a tribute to the wild imagination and refined aesthetics of its owner, who incidentally never lived there. Here, we give Casa Mollino the black and white treatment, stripping bare its nooks, and examining its niches.
For three decades, curator Fulvio Ferrarri has been studying and promoting enigmatic Italian designer, architect, photographer, and engineer Carlo Mollino worldwide. Doing much for the artist in these past years, he was the one who curated the first exhibitions of Mollino’s work, additionally authoring a number specified publications published in Europe, Japan and the US. Currently, the museum of ‘Casa Mollino’ in Turin is being curated by Fulvio and his son Napoleone Ferrari.
