Antoine d’Agata uncovered stories of taboo, addiction, darkness and sex. His passions gravitated towards photography and film leading to his inauguration in the prestigious photo agency Magnum photos in 2008. He was born in Marseilles but in 1983 left his country of birth, moving around for many years eventually settling in New York in 1990. His pictures are graphic and unsettling, revealing deep trauma on personal as well as a societal level. The subjects are often nude and in dark settings instilling a sense of unbridled vulnerability into the viewer.
